Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister on European Integration at the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, and Natalie Prokopchuk, Project Manager of the SECO-FiBL Project "Organic Market Development in Ukraine", share the same opinion: “The organic market in Ukraine is constantly developing.” According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the country has 42.7 million hectares of agricultural land and 289,551 ha are cultivated organically. Due to the geographical location, widespread fertile black soils and proximity to potential international buyers, the country has favourable conditions to expand organic agriculture, says an official report of the Ministry.
