Wal-Mart changing its organic sales strategy

by Editor (comments: 0)

As Wal-Mart has been battling with small growth rates and the overall trend of online shopping, the company has decided to drop its organic brand Wild Oats, which was introduced only two years ago. The line was launched in an effort to offer inexpensive organic food to Wal-Marts costumers. Because the price was around 25% lower than other organic brands, the introduction of Wild Oats was seen as a turning point for organic food prices. The coming month, all products of the brand will disappear from Wal-Mart shelves.

But the end of Wild Oats does not mean Wal-Mart is giving up on increasing sales  with organic products. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company wants to add more organic fresh produce to its product range and introduce more organic food to its store brand Great Value.
