Vegfest Scotland to launch this year

Scotland is set to embrace a whole new world of healthy eating in 2015 with Europe's vegan festival Vegfest arriving at SECC, Glasgow, on 5 – 6 December. The two day food fest is part of a brand-new Glasgow-based venture The Only Way is Ethics comprising an eight day festival exploring, promoting and celebrating ethical choices affecting all aspects of living. The Only Way is Ethics sees a number of events around Glasgow City Centre flourish in the week preceding Vegfest, and already there's been a lot of interest from different businesses, organisations, charities, and departments looking to get involved.

Vegfest Scotland is all about going vegan and demonstrating how easy it is. The inaugural Vegfest Scotland includes a number of exciting features to get healthy eating and vegan activism high on the agenda for many. They include a Health and an Activists Summit, dozens of talks on nutrition, health, lifestyle and campaigns, in-house Levy's Restaurant serving an all-vegan menu, plus twelve other specialist caterers, around 120 stalls, a Hemp Expo focusing on the industrial and medicinal benefits of hemp, a Living Raw Zone dedicated to raw living foods, kids cookery classes, family entertainment, and much more. More information is available here.

Vegfest UK also includes an edition in Brighton that took place on 28 – 29 March this year. This event was very successful again – about 12,000 visitors came to Brighton this year. It also attracted non-vegans and many people came for the first time. A further Vegfest was held in Bristol on 23 – 24 May (14,000 visitors this year) and another one is to take place in London on 10 – 11 October 2015. More information on all these festivals as well as on further vegan activities in the UK is available here.
