Turkey: Ecology Izmir and symposium on organic medicinal plants

Ecology Izmir, Turkey’s leading trade event for certified organic products, will take place at Izmir Fair from 16 to 19 April 2015. It will bring together organic sector representatives from Turkey, Eastern European countries, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa. One of the major attractions will be the Organic Demo Shop, and meals made with ingredients from the exhibition will be served at a restaurant. More information is available here.

Especially in the organic sector, import of herbs and spices from Turkey are picking up and finding their way into herbal teas, processed products and cosmetics. The International Turkish Quality Symposium for Organic Medicinal and Aromatic Plants will take place in collaboration with the fair from 16 to 18 April 2015 to showcase their promising marketing opportunities and at the same time point out existing quality problems and solutions. It will provide an information platform for private sector companies with a specific interest to work in the organic sector and bring together companies offering organic herbs and spices with potential customers from Europe.
