Transport: Followfood wants to offset CO₂

by Editor (comments: 0)

From the beginning of 2017 the German company Followfood wants to compensate for CO₂ emissions caused by transporting its goods by planting trees in Uganda.  As the Friedrichshafen company a tracking code pioneer in organic and sustainable fish products reported, they have devised a corresponding concept together with the consultants for voluntary CO₂ compensation myclimate.

They state that in the case of fish, for example, the transport from landing to the final storage destination is being precisely calculated. Annually, 400 tonnes of CO₂ are emitted that the company intends to offset with the help of the forestry project. But that's not all. “Our mission  is to manage our whole company CO₂-neutrally in the foreseeable future,” says co-founder Jürg Knoll.
