Sue Edwards was committed organic advocate and long-standing member of IFOAM - Organics International. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sue Edwards”, says IFOAM. Sue Edwards was Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and one of the founders of the African Biodiversity Network and the Ecological and Organic Agriculture Initiative.

She was helping thousands of farmers learn agroecological techniques. A committed organic advocate and long-standing member of IFOAM - Organics International, she was also whole-heartedly committed to the well-being of her community and fought tirelessly for women and youth rights and opportunities, informs IFOAM.

Only a few months ago she was awarded with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her and Dr. Tewolde Berhan's outstanding contributions to a better world. "With an immense body of work, she leaves behind an indelible mark in the fields of agroecology and sustainable development", explained IFOAM.
