Record number of visitors at BioFach America Latina

by Editor (comments: 0)

The twelfth BioFach America Latina - Bio Brazil Fair registered a record number of visitors: 19,051 (2015: 17,669) international visitors attended the double trade fair and sought information from 117 (2015: 122) purely organic exhibitors about the latest products and services the sector has to offer.

Organised business meetings between 95 exhibitors and potential business partners from all over the world were a highlight in the first two days of the fair. A total of 3,420 discussions took place, many with a positive outcome that will result in estimated turnover of more than 750,000 US dollars during next year – this is what we learn from the concluding report of NürnbergMesse. Executives responsible for purchasing at the big international chains like Carrefour and Coop also took part. The end result, we are told, is 40 percent more deals concluded than in 2015.

Successful Forum with exciting lectures

Alongside the comprehensive product show, the International Organic and Sustainable Agriculture Forum attracted many visitors with lectures given by industry insiders and organic experts. Among the people present at the Forum were Leonardo Leite de Barros, President of the Brazilian Association of Organic Farming (ABPO) and representatives of IFOAM and various certification authorities. Lectures on the market were given by, for example, Vincent Morel from the certifier Ecocert América Latina  and the trade fair expert Iride Ciaccia from LC International Srl Italy
