Pasta Nuova GmbH is now called Mossa GmbH. After 17 years, the pasta manufacturer from Graben-Neudorf in Baden decided on this change of name in order to be able to better separate the corporate brand from its specialist trade brand.

"In terms of brand management, positioning and communication, the demands and requirements of end consumers have (rightly) increased immensely," the company announced. "At first glance, it must be clear whether the communication is a corporate statement or a brand message," said David Dossinger, responsible for marketing and sales at Mossa.

Under the old name, that distinction wasn't always clear. In the past, for example, applicants to job postings sometimes asked whether the position was only for the Pasta Nuova brand, Dossinger said. Mossa GmbH also manufactures products for food retailers under the name Pasta d'oro. Nothing will change in either brand as a result of the renaming, the company said. Everything else will also remain the same.

For the pasta specialist, which has been producing exclusively organic products since 1998, this is the second change of name in just over 30 years. When Italian immigrant worker Leandro Mossa founded the company in 1990, he called it LIHO. The name change to Pasta Nuova followed in 2005. With the new name, Mossa also communicates continuity: The medium-sized company is now a third-generation family business.
