On 6-10 September, organic stakeholders, farmers, researchers and policymakers will address questions around resilience, societal transformation, health, and food sovereignty during the 20th Organic World Congress. Due to the ongoing Corona pandemic, the OWC2021 will be hybrid event, taking place digitally and on-site in Rennes, France. The number of on-site participants is limited to 500.

The preliminary programme contains over 450 confirmed contributions with three plenary sessions:

Plenary Session 1

The Need to Transform Agricultural and Food Systems: what organic agriculture can bring

Keynote speakers: 

  • Phil Howard, Professor of Community Sustainability, USA
  • Ruth Richardson, Executive Director, Global Alliance for the Future of Food
  • Johan Rockström, Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, Sweden

 Plenary Session 2

Agents of Change. Let’s accelerate transformation: Who can lead change and how? Cities, companies, social movements ...

Plenary Session 3

A New Narrative and Call to Action: How should policies change? What investments are needed? What homework does the organic movement need to do?

  • Sandrine Le Feur, Député et Commissaire au Développement durable et à l'Aménagement du territoire à l'Assemblée Nationale, France

All participants will have access to all digital content and live plenary conferences on the digital platform. The platform also enables participants to interact with other stakeholders and speakers via chat or video.
