Organic Seed Alliance of 2016

Seedalliance, the largest organic seed event in the U.S., will take place from the 4th to the 6th of February 2016 in Corvallis Oregon. More than 80 experts in the fields of organic plant breeding, seed production, seed policy will be attending the event. Cary Fowler is attending as the conference keynote. Fowler is the former director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust and helped create the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. His accomplished career is featured in a new film called Seeds of Time.

Farmers, seed producers and companies, but also non-organic farmers and seed producers interested in organic seed production, as well as government employees involved in plant breeding and food companies, cooperatives, and processors in the organic sector will be attending the conference

The conference location at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, provides networking opportunities for trade show participants. Additionally, the conference agenda designates times for participants to visit trade show booths on each day of the main conference.

Scholarship awards will support registration costs of the main conference programming scheduled for Friday, February 5th, and Saturday, February 6th. These scholarships are available to farmers who net less than $50,000 per year, and agricultural interns and students. A portion of this year’s scholarship awards are reserved for 1) beginning farmers, 2) Latino farmers, and 3) Canadian farmers.
