International Green Week: Global Forum and Organic Hall

Organic produce is enjoying a boom, and this is also evident at the International Green Week Berlin 2017. The 82nd International Green Week will take place from  20 - 29 January 2017 on a total area of 118,000 m2 and 1,550 exhibitors. More than 85,000  trade visitors will be expected.  In the separate Bio Hall at the international exhibition of the food, agriculture and gardening industries the organic industry and organisations are located under the slogan “Organics – More space for life”.

Also in the Bio Hall the organic associations Bioland, Demeter and Naturland will be demonstrating many different facets of organic production. With Demeter beekeepers this begins with species-appropriate beekeeping as the basis not only for their own products such as honey and candle wax but equally for the pollination of our fruit and vegetable plants. Bioland is showing how organic chickens are kept under modern and humane conditions. The Naturland display is both entertaining and informative, and the activities programme “Science with a DIY Factor for Kids“, which is not just for children and young people, investigates all the things that healthy organic soil can provide, and how organic farmers are protecting our drinking water. Live demonstrations in the Bio Hall will also include a modern tractor and a special machine for harvesting eco-hemp.
