The organisers have cancelled the fair due to the rising Covid-incidence rates. One of the planned accompanying events is planned to take place digitally.

The International Green Week (IGW) 2022 will not take place. This was announced by the organisers on Friday. The reason is the rising Corona infection figures. The agricultural and food fair should have taken place in Berlin from 21 to 30 January 2021. "The International Green Week lives from the encounters, from trying out, discovering and tasting. Under the given conditions such as masks and distances, our visitors' expectations of the Green Week cannot be fulfilled," said Lars Jaeger, IGW project manager at Messe Berlin.

14th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture accompanying the IGW is to take place digitally:

  • The German Federal Ministry of Agriculture invites interested parties to the 14th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) from 24 to 28 January 2022. In the virtual forum, around 2,000 international participants from politics, business, science and civil society will discuss agricultural and food policy issues. The GFFA 2022 is dedicated to the topic "Sustainable land use: Food security starts with the soil".

The next IGW will take place from 20 to 29 January 2023 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. For more information please visit: https://www.gruenewoche.de/en/
