International Green Week 2018 in Berlin

From 19th until 28th January 2018, the International Green Week opens its doors to professionals and the public audience for the 83^rd time. The Green Week Berlin is one of the world’s largest fairs for nutrition, agriculture and horticulture and the most highly frequented exhibition in the German capital. Partner country of the Green Week 2018 will be Bulgaria, that will present different Bulgarian specialities under the slogan “Flavour of the Sun” at the fair. For the upcoming Green Week, Messe Berlin expects more than 1,600 exhibitors from around 65 different countries as well as over 400.000 professional and private visitors. Within the scope of the exhibition, many specialized meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops will be offered.

Global Forum for Food & Agriculture 2018

Central to the conference program of the International Green Week 2018 is the Global Forum for Food & Agriculture (GFFA), taking place from the 18^th – 20^th January 2018 at the start of the exhibition. The topic of the important agro-political conference with around 70 agriculture ministers and top representatives of the agriculture and food industry will be “Shaping the Future of Livestock – sustainably, responsibly, efficiently”. The conference aims at finding and discussing solution approaches to central problems like supply of the world’s growing population and shrinking biodiversity. Interested parties are invited to take part at specialized panel sessions after having registered online.

Bundeswettbewerb Ökologischer Landbau 2018

Within the scope of the International Green Week, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture awards the prize for the Federal Organic Farming Competition (Bundeswettbewerb Ökologischer Landbau) 2018. Particularly sustainable concept throughout companies as well as tried and tested innovative achievements within organic farming are honoured with the prize endowing up to 22,500 Euro. The award ceremony takes place on the 25^th January 2018 during the Green Week in Berlin.
