India: Organic & Millets 2018- International Trade Fair

Organic & Millets 2018 trade fair will take place on 19th - 21st January 2018 in Bangalore South India. The exhibition from leading companies in organic agribusiness and state goverments offers B2B Meetings, B2C events, international and domestic Buyers Delegation, International Conference and Farmers Workshop.

Major components of the event:
The exhibition with over 400 booths of organic companies and brands will exhibit a diverse range of food and non-food organic products. Exhibitors include organic companies, exporters, organic retailers, farmer groups, organic inputs companies, Government agencies. Organic Pavilions of State Govts will support farmer groups engaged in organic farming with third party or PGS certification, fair trade and sustainability standards. The trade fair will also promote organic businesses through companies into food processing, packaging, testing laboratories etc. to bring in new technologies, equipments and opportunities for farmers. in the APEDA Pavilion all 28 certification bodies accredited will actively participate to promote their services. In the International Pavilion associations and companies across the globe will also be invited to participate.
 
The Buyer and Seller Meet is an integral part of the Trade Fair wherein international and domestic Buyers (including exporters, wholesalers and retailers) will be brought to meet with suppliers and farmer groups to negotiate trade and marketing. B2B meets are organized after matching the requirements of the buyers with that of the sellers, by sending out questionnaires to the buyers and the sellers well in advance.Thus entire process of facilitating the B2B meetings is made time efficient, thus benefitting large numbers of exhibitors. A dedicated Buyer Seller lounge is created at the venue.
 
International Conference
A knowledge sharing conference will be organized. It will bring in leading domestic and international speakers from India and abroad. 200 + delegates comprising of participants from diverse sectors constituting of farmers, traders/exporters, researchers, NGOs, Central and State Governments. "The conference aims to make a unique meeting place for all the organic stakeholders, policy makers, government and non government, where discussions, networking and interpersonal meetings will be the focus. A new platform where future and lasting contacts will be made, which contribute for ease trade of organic products across the country ultimately leading to sustainable agriculture and economic development", explains the organiser.

Farmers’ Workshop
Special workshop sessions will be conducted for farmers from many parts of the state and country. These sessions will be held in Hindi and Kannada. Experts on organic production and value-chains will address these sessions. Farmers from across India will be participating in large numbers, to get best benefit of this trade fair by understanding the organic market trends, demands, organic certification process, export potentials etc., and thus understand both the technical as well as the commercial aspect of the organic agribusiness.
 
Organic Awareness programs
This component will focus on creating awareness about organic food and its relevance to food safety, health and environment. Special activities like Cooking competition for home-makers, demonstration of various ways of cooking Millets- the forgotten foods, consultation on health by dieticians and nutritional experts for general public will be held on the second day. Special talk will be arranged by renowned dietician emphasizing on the role of safe food. The program will be open for general public. It aims at establishing connect between ‘Organics’ & ‘Consumers’, which will go a long way in strengthening our domestic markets.
 
Organic Food Court:-
An organic food court serving different local organic delicacies will be an added attraction.
 
It serves as an important confluence for all organic stakeholders for the promotion of trade, sharing information and knowledge about organic agriculture and agribusiness.
