IFOAM: Louise Luttikholt new Executive Director

Louise Luttikholt is announced the new Executive Director of IFOAM Organics International, headquartered in Bonn, Germany. The next step of succession planning has been completed, announced the organisation. After Peggy Miars was elected as IFOAM President at the IFOAM Organic World Congress in India last year (we reported earlier) Louise Luttikholt will take responsibility on 1 July 2018 and follows Markus Arbenz.

Louise has been active in the organic movement for over 25 years, and holds a Drs. (MSc) in Biology from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Since 2014 she has worked as the Director of HELVETAS Germany and Senior Advisor Sustainable Agriculture at HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. Prior to this, Louise held various roles at Fairtrade International, IFOAM - Organics International, Biologica and others.

This extensive professional experience in organic agriculture, fair trade and development cooperation at a strategic, management and regulatory level is matched by her strong personal passion for sustainability, says a IFOAM press release.

Louise says, “I am honoured and humbled to have been appointed by the World Board as the next Executive Director of IFOAM - Organics International.  I am inspired by the work of the broad and diverse membership of IFOAM - Organics International and look forward collectively putting the new Strategy and Organic 3.0 further into action.”
