The organic agriculture sector in Germany grows stably. The number of agricultural companies increased with 5.7% in 2015 and the area farmed with organic agriculture grew by 3.9%. Organic farm land now makes up 6.5% of the whole agricultural area. Federal Office for Agriculture and Food displays all structural figures for organic agriculture in Germany for 2015.
The German minister of Agriculture, Christian Schmidt, said according to Fresh Plaza, that he wants to work on a revision of the EU farming regulation. With a stricter regulation, the trust of consumers in the organic food industry could be strengthened, which would set the market to grow even further.
