On its website, Lidl Germany publishes a list of the main suppliers for its food and non-food private label range. The discounter thus fulfils transparency requirements that the German organic specialist trade has not yet realised for its own brands.

The list is to be updated regularly and completes the main production sites in the supply chain for the textile and shoe range of Lidl's own brands published in 2017. Consumers can now obtain information about the origin of baked goods, dairy products, cosmetics, cleaning products or hardware such as toys, sports equipment or garden furniture, among other things.

According to Jan Bock, Purchasing Manager of Lidl Germany, Lidl customers want to know more about the production of the products. "We want to meet this wish, combined with our demand for more transparency."
