dennree LogoThe dennree group, headquatered in Töpen in Upper Franconia, is the leading wholesaler for organic food and natural cosmetics in the German-speaking regions. Dennree has reported that in 2016 its consolidated net turnover came to 920 million euros -  a gain of 100 million euros, which equates to ca. 10% compared with the year before. Thus 2016 was another very successful year for Germany's leading organic wholesaler that runs also the organic supermarket chain denn´s.

The total turnover of the dennree group includes the turnover generated by cooperating with 1,400 partners in the specialist trade to whom the wholesaler sells over 13,000 organic products that are produced by around 600 suppliers.

As well as the organic wholesale business the organic specialist retail outlets - denn's Biomarkt with over 250 stores in Germany and Austria – are a part of the group. 2016 saw the launch of 37 new outlets. The group employs  more than 5,100 people, of whom 390 are trainees. The Eichigt farm in Saxony also belongs to the group.

The farm in Eichigt is being converted in keeping with  Bioland guidelines

Since 1 April 2016 the whole Eichigt farm (4,000 ha), taken over in 2015, has been undergoing conversion to organic. In the course of conversion they are planning to invest double-digit millions of euros in, among other things, new animal stalls. Since January 2017 the farm has been a member of the Bioland association. Key features include an extensive grazing concept for dairy cattle and a comprehensive nature conservation plan. They will, moreover, also draw up a Common Good Balance Sheet.
