First international GOTS Conference in Mumbai

The first international Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) conference - Strong Partnerships for Success - will take place in Mumbai, India on 22 May 2015. The conference provides the ideal opportunity to find out about organic textile processing in India, regionally, and globally. It will also educate and stimulate attendees with presentations and discussions about GOTS-related brand experiences, production practices, and policies. Speakers represent leading brands, suppliers, and the government. In addition, given that companies from around the world and throughout the supply chain are attending, the extensive networking opportunities will help create successful partnerships.

Why India?

India is the largest producer of organic cotton with approximately 70 percent of world production, and is also home to the largest number of GOTS-certified processing facilities. More than 1,300 GOTS certified facilities are located in India, representing more than one-third of the total number of GOTS certified facilities worldwide.
