The bio verlag, the publishing company of organic-market.info, was awarded “National Winnter” in the category “Social Responsibility and Environmental Awareness” at the European Business Awards. Manager Sabine Kauffmann accepted the award in Warsaw. Our publishing house still has the change to additionally become a “European Winner”. Also, the vote for the audience’s favourite is still pending.

364 companies from 33 countries received the National Winner award at the European Business Awards. The bio verlag, publisher of Schrot&Korn, Cosmia, BioHandel and organic-market.info, is one of them. It won in the category “Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Awareness”. 15 other companies from Germany received awards in different categories. This is not the first successful participation in the European Business Awards for the bio verlag: in 2012 it was named “Employer of the Year”.

Two decisions have yet to be made: Will the bio verlag be one of the 19 companies to receive the “European Winner” award? And will it be voted the audience’s favourite in the public video competition? The announcement will be made at the closing gala in Warsaw in December.

Inspiring, successful, dynamic

The bio verlag is one of 2,753 companies from Europe that were previously included in the ‘Ones to Watch’ list of the European Business Awards by an independent jury of business leaders, politicians and academics. A total of 181 companies from Germany are included in this list, making them among the best in terms of exceptional performance, innovation, success and ethics. Among them are for example Biovegan GmbH and the GLS bank. Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, said: “Companies selected as the ‘Ones to Watch’ are the most inspiring, successful and dynamic in Europe”.

Bio verlag convinced the jury that it fulfills its economic, ecological and social responsibilities far beyond the legal requirements. It also stands for a transparent strategy and continuous, proactive improvement of its processes.
