



EU Organic Awards to be presented for the first time

The organic awards aim to recognize the best and most innovative organic operators who contribute to reducing the harmful effects of agriculture on the environment and climate, as well as to the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy and the Farm to Fork Strategy. In seven categories ranging from best organic farmer to best organic restaurant, the EU organic awards will be presented for the first time this year.
The award categories are the following:
1: Best organic farmer (female) and Best organic farmer (male)
2: Best organic region
3: Best organic city
4: Best organic bio-district
5: Best organic Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)
6: Best organic food retailer
7: Best organic restaurant
The links to the online application forms will be available from 25 March 2022 on the European Commission's website. The awards are non-financial and will be handed out on 23 September, which is EU Organic Day. The EU organic awards are jointly organized by the European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Committee of the Regions, COPA-COGECA and IFOAM Organics Europe. The jury will consist of representatives from those organisations.
