IFAD Annual report 2015 has recently been published in order to explain about their work, investments and results, announced the IFAD Homepage. The report contains facts, figures and stories that highlight the IFAD work to empower rural women and men and to transform the rural space. The rural women and men spotlighted in this report are ready and determined to transform the places where they live to create a better and more sustainable world.

IFAD invests in rural people, empowering them to reduce poverty, increase food security, improve nutrition and strengthen resilience. IFAD is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency based in Rome – the UN’s food and agriculture hub.Since 1978, the organization has provided US$17.7 billion in grants and low-interest loans to projects that have reached about 459 million people.

IFAD President Kanayo F. Nwanze opened the 2015 Annual Report by looking at the organization's role in framing Agenda 2030, and in global negotiations on climate change. He recognized leadership in the area of gender equality and outlines the ongoing drive of the IFAD to decentralize, with its multiple benefits. He mentioned major transformations completed by IFAD in 2015, with the approval of loans funded by sovereign borrowing, and the development of an innovative methodology to assess impact.

The IFAD Annual Report is available in two versions: print and full. The print version contains the first 62 pages of the report, while the full report includes four additional chapters that are only available online. The 12-page Annual Report Highlights, is at your disposal if one wishes to read  something shorter.
