Demand for organic meat on the rise in the UK

Since February, sales of organic meat have increased by 4.1% in the UK. In contrast, the demand for conventional meat dropped by 8.1% in the same time period. According to Organic Authority, The British Journal of Nutrition had released an article in February, stating, that organic meat contains up to 50% more omega-3-fatty acids than its conventional counterpart. The organic version has also lower levels of saturated fat, what makes it a healthier choice than conventional. The Soil Association, UK’s organic certification body, assumes, that the rising demand for organic meat could be a result of that publication.
