Liesl Truscott, European & Farm Engagement Director, joined Textile Exchange Board member Mitsuya Inagaki from KOWA, Daren Abney from the Better Cotton Initiative, and Jouji Matsui from Fairtrade Japan to deliver a seminar on cotton sustainability initiatives in January. With Liesl travelling from the UK and Daren from the USA, they took this opportunity to meet with members and other interested companies. Muji, a popular retailer worldwide and member of Textile Exchange, is now using organic cotton in the majority of its cotton products)

The seminar was a sell-out

The seminar was a sell-out - far exceeding expectations. Mitsuya, who organised the event and responding to the rush of response, explains that within 12 hours of announcing the seminar capacity had been reached. As a result a bigger venue had to be found. 75 people from the corporate and NGO world flocked to find out more about organic cotton, Fairtrade, and the Better Cotton Initiative. Questions and discussions continued after the event and into the evening reception, which was sponsored by Textile Exchange and the Better Cotton Initiative.
