Correction: Malta - the EU organic Achilles heel

With regard to our article "Malta - the EU organic Achilles heel" that we published on www.organic-market.info first of April, we as www.Bio-markt.info/ www.Organic-Market.info and the author of the article Mr. Leo Fruehschuetz want to correct some facts and apologize to Mr Aart Jan Jonker in the comments referring to his name. Mr. Jonker and the group  Biodiet/Pure Life sent us their remarks that we publish here. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience!

Mr. Aart Jan Jonker is an independent sales agent based in The Netherlands. His comment is:

"I read your article about Malta on your website. I think it is a very good cause that we all try to eliminate fraud in the organic business. On the other hand I was very much surprised to read my name and half of my linkedin page in the same article. I do not understand why you have so explicitely mentioned my name and the other company that I represent. What exactly is your intention  of publishing this article? To open the discussion on fraud through Malta or to put my reputation on the line? Why haven’t you contacted me before publication to verify how we work, why didn’t you contact me so I can tell you who I am and what my roll is in the Bio Diets organization? As a good reporter this is the minimum what you should do; investigate and not just copy/paste some internet data. My reputation in the organic market is 100% clean. Your article about Malta is unacceptable for me.

For your information, my roll in Bio Diets: I am an independent sales agent based in The Netherlands and I am helping Bio Diets to sell their organic products such as sugar for the Benelux market. I have 13 years of experience in the organic business. Myself and the companies that I represent, have a clean reputation and since many years we do everything possible to promote organic business, sustainable agriculture and a healthy planet.

Further: the company Amazonas Trading Peru SAC is an exporter of Organic/UTZ/Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade Cocoa Beans and Quinoa. The company is based in Peru and has no link with Malta.
