Coming up: Organic Wine Iberia in June

Organic Wine Iberia co-located with Organic Food Iberia and Eco Living Iberia, will take place at Ifema-Feria de Madrid, on 3-4 June. The event will feature over 600 exhibiting companies.

Organic Wine Iberia, part of Organic Food Iberia, returns to Ifema-Feria de Madrid, on 3-4 June, with a diverse range of quality organic wines from across the Iberian Peninsula.  The latest wine exhibitors to be announced include Bodegas Cornelio, Navarrosotillo, DOP Jumilla, Viñedos Ruiz Jimenez, Viña Ijalba, Bodegas Corral – Don Jacobo, and Vinícola Real. As well as independent wineries, the show will feature pavilions from Valencia, La Rioja, and Spanish Organic Wines (SOW) – with companies yet to be confirmed. 

Insights, research and discussions

Organic Wine Iberia will feature the popular Organic Wine Tasting Gallery. Here visitors can smell and taste fruity blends of Monastrell, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo, plus beautifully balanced Palomino and Godello.The tasting gallery makes it even easier for buyers to sample and discuss what’s on offer, away from the stands and show-floor.

For insights, research and discussions about the growing sector, the Organic Wine Theatre will feature a range of international experts sharing their thoughts on vital market developments within organic wine, beers and spirits.  Previous speakers have included the Spanish Association of Supermarket Chains (ACES), the Spanish Organic Wines Association (SOW), and the ‘Master of Wine’ Pancho Campo.  The full speaker schedule will be announced in the coming months. 

There will be four dedicated theatres (the Organic Wine Theatre, the Organic Theatre, the Kitchen Theatre, and the Eco Living & Beauty Theatre). Plus, the Innovation Zone – featuring the next wave of bestselling products, regional and international pavilions, and the Organic Food & Eco Living Awards Iberia.

“Thanks to Organic Wine Iberia we can present a large variety of our organic wines to the hospitality and retail sector. As well as participating as speakers, the show allows us to join other professionals in order to promote certificated organic wines to the final consumer, and in June we will showcase and share our latest ranges,” says Esther Pinuaga, president of Spanish Organic Wines Association (SOW).

Organic wine is a major export potential for Spain

According to the IWSR Organic Wine Report, the market is forecasted to reach 87.5m cases by 2022, and is only increasing due to a rise in consumer sentiment for sustainability and organic products.  Recent statistics show that wine producers in Spain increased by 10% in 2018 to 1,033 (up from 939 in 2017) and in Valencia it increased by 16.5% to 126 producers (up from 108 in 2017).
