BioFach China: Satisfied exhibitors and visitors

After three busy trade fair days at the Shanghai World Expo Convention Center (SWEECC), the tenth BioFach China closed its doors on 28 May and has counted 16,546 visitors from all over the world who visited the 337 exhibitors. In addition to companies from numerous Chinese provinces, there were also pavilions from Denmark, Taiwan and Japan. A total of 13 countries and regions were represented.

To mark the event’s anniversary, BioFach China also had several new conceptual features on offer: on the second day the TIPI Organic Science Day and Technology Innovation Forum was organized by the Forschungsinstitut für biologischen Landbau (FiBL, Research Institute of Organic Agriculture), IFOAM Asia, NürnbergMesse China, Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) along with the China Organic Food Certification Center (COFCC) and held for the first time, covering exciting organic themes in eleven presentations and attracting 120 participants. The new Together with Organic special presentation was also well received and generally concerned itself with an ecological, sustainable lifestyle whilst showing numerous innovations.

Darren Guo, Managing Director NürnbergMesse China, is more than satisfied with the course of the fair: “The success of BioFach China is impressive. No one would have expected this development within just ten years. At the first event in 2007 just 186 companies exhibited – now we have almost twice as many. BioFach China has thus become the most influential organic fair in China. It presents not only the diversity of the Chinese and international organic market, at the same time it also offers an optimal trade platform for organic companies and buyers.

Congress and Forum well attended

The supporting International Organic Food Market and Development Conference offered the sector players a specialist value-added. 30 experts from research institutes, the trade press as well as the organic production sector shared experiences and market know-how with the Chinese and international organic industry. The presentations and discussion panels were attended by around 300 participants

Anniversary supporting program also a total success

In addition to the specialist congresses, the tenth BioFach China had a perfectly-tailored supporting program for all visitor target groups. At the Together with Organic special show trends and innovations were the focal point. It showed numerous products necessary for a sustainable and ecological lifestyle. In addition to organic foods, visitors were also provided with a presentation of eco textiles and other consumer goods. The interest was great and the presentation was consistently well attended.
