BioFach 2018: the "next organic generation"

According to the motto "Next Generation", the world’s leading trade fair for organic food products BioFach in Nuremberg opens its doors from 14th – 17th February 2018 for professional visitors working in the organic sector.

As NürnbergMesse reports, in contrast to last year’s fair, more exhibitors are expected at the upcoming edition of the fair-duo BioFach and Vivaness. In order to reconcile all 2,950 exhibitors, two further halls (4A and 8) will be opened at the fairground. Besides the presentation of international certified organic food products; latest trends, newcomers, worlds of experience as well as several networking possibilities within the branch can be expected by professional visitors. Further, the BioFach 2018 offers the ideal platform to discuss ideas on how to develop the organic market and about the structures of generational transitions in organic companies.

Finding perpectives

With reference to the focused topic „Next Generation“; created by IFOAM – Organics International, the German Union of the Organic Food Economics (Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft - BÖLW) and BioFach; the fair trade presents various connecting points for professional guests:

  • Meeting point “Generation Future” with a career club and job exchange
    Partner is the Nuremburg-based consultancy Kugler&Rosenberger, whose experts will talk about the generational change in companies with professional visitors.
  • Meeting point “Initiatives & NGOs”
    Projects from the fields politics, agriculture, animal welfare, fairtrade, regionality, consumer protection and climate protection will introduce their work and objectives.
  • Specialist trade meeting
    Exchange and talks about future-oriented trade concepts and solution apporaches to recent challenges. Partners are the Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren (BNN) and the bio verlag.
  • Event: “newly“ inspired – young companies‘ recent concepts for success  
    Innovative ideas are necessary to cope with the pending challenges in the specialist trade. The bio verlag has invited six start-up companies – three retailers and three producers – to present their successful innovative concepts. In three circles, visitors will be able to choose one start-up each. Within the talks, participants can collect worthwhile suggestions as well as develop new ideas by themselves.

Varied supporting program

The fair’s organizers also provide the visitor with the possibility to take part at the BioFach Congress as well as the Vivaness Congress. As a branch- and knowledge forum, the combined knowledge-transfer and networking-event offers international stakeholders to gather at more than 120 individual appointments in order to exchange their know-how as well as views on relevant, practical topics. The BioFach Congress is structured in the following fora:

  • Professional trade

In the frame of the experience worlds Olive Oil, Wine and Vegan, the product ranges will be exhibited by a combined offer of tastings, presentations, workshops and professional exchange within separate exhibition areas. An important item on the agenda of the experience worlds are further the Olive Oil Awards, the International Wine Prize Mundus Vini BioFach as well as the Best New Product Awards.
