Bio Brazil Fair / BioFach America Latina

From 10 to 13 June 2015, in the Ibirapuera Bienal pavilion in São Paulo, the focus will once again be entirely on organic products and organic farming, because this is when Bio Brazil Fair / BioFach America Latina will be held, one of the largest Brazilian trade fairs in this segment. This year, around 100 organic companies, including an Italian pavilion, will be exhibiting in a space of over 7,000 square metres. Around 15,000 national and international visitors are expected, both trade visitors and also end-consumers. In addition to the product exhibition, a theme forum along with organized business meetings are presented.

The Brazilian organic products market is continuing to develop well with an average annual growth rate of 30 to 40 percent. Surveys conducted by the Instituto de Promoção do Desenvolvimento (Brazilian Development Promotion Institute, IPD), confirm organic products sales for 2014 totalled US§650 million (about €580 million). This corresponds to an increase of 35 percent compared to 2013.

Another highlight is the International Agriculture Organic and Sustainable Forum being held on 10 and 11 June. Here, national and international experts will be discussing important sector developments. The keynote speaker in 2015 is agriculture ecologist Rogério Dias who will be talking about the Brazilian organic market. Representatives from IFOAM as well as certification experts will also be participating in the specialist forum. Parallel to the fairs, the eleventh Naturaltech, International Fair of Healthy Food, Natural Products and Health, is being held at the same exhibition venue. Producers and suppliers of functional foods, probiotics, whole-grain, diet and vegetarian products, light foods, food supplements, honey and honey derivatives, natural cosmetics along with oils and essences are presented there.
