In the financial year 2016/2017, the Austrian organic firm Sonnentor recorded an outstanding increase in sales of around 12 % and total turnover of 40.2 million euros. This specialist in tea and spices has created 42 new jobs. Sonnentor's subsidiary in Čejkovice in the Czech Republic is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Sonnentor reports that in the last business year the company produced a profit of roughly 8 million euros – a rise of 8 %.

“We're demonstrating once again that there's no contradiction in ecology, economics and social commitment,” says Johannes Gutmann, the founder of Sonnentor. “I'm really pleased with our current success. We've been growing continuously since the outset – now it's a question of staying healthy and continuing to manage our business successfully.” The company points out that exports account for 66% of its sales and make a significant contribution to its successful development.

Sonnentor was awarded the Silver Austrian Export Prize for its commitment to and achievements in exporting. Its products are dispatched to 52 countries and are sold via the specialist trade, a franchise system and its online shop – now operating Cick&Collect.
