Alnatura expands its management team

Götz Rehn expands the management of Alnatura. At the age of 71, the founder of the German organic retailer company is still at the helm of the company. At his side: Rüdiger Kasch, who is responsible for sales, purchasing and expansion, and Herwarth von Plate, who is responsible for IT and finance. But changes are imminent.

In response to a request from BioHandel, Alnatura announced that Klaus Böhmer will join the Alnatura management board on April 1 as a new member responsible for IT and logistics. The 53-year-old has been employed at Alnatura since 2008 and was most recently divisional manager for logistics.

Alnatura names Alexander Hüge (41) as a further new addition to its executive management team, where he will be responsible for employee service and development from October 1. His previous area, "Sales Markets", is to go to Lucas Rehn in perspective. The 34-year-old son of founder Götz Rehn has been employed at Alnatura since January.

With von Plate and Kristina Büttner, Alnatura had brought two external managers onto the management board. Büttner joined the top management level in 2019, but already left in last July. According to a report in Lebensmittelzeitung, von Plate is now also leaving the company to set up her own business.

Götz Rehn thinks about leaving

In January, Götze Rehn had hinted at his retirement from the management board and commented on his succession. According to the statement, the company, which turned over more than 1 billion euros for the first time in 2020 and continues to grow, will eventually own itself. "We have set up a double foundation for this purpose: There is the charitable Alnatura Foundation, to which 99 per cent of the company's capital will fall at the latest upon my death. And in addition, there is the Götz Rehn Family Foundation with an accompanying and advisory function for the company management, in which the voting rights are already bundled," Rehn told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
