Aldi becoming a threat to Whole Foods

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The German supermarket chain Aldi could become a threat to organic supermarkets as it expands its range of organic products to attract young, health-conscious customers. Included in their new strategy is the meat brand “Never Any!”, which is advertised as having no hormones, antibiotics or other additives in the meat. According to the Paste Magazine, Aldi is also planning to expand its “Simply Nature” and “liveGfree” brands, which already provide non-artificial and gluten free foods. As the Aldi milk is already hormone free, the house brand yoghurt and other diary products are to follow.

Aldi is known for its cheap prices and if it applies its strategy to organic products, it could become a real challenge for supermarket chains like WholeFoods.
