A positive outcome for BioFach America

by Editor (comments: 0)

From 22 to 24 September the organic theme was at the centre of everything going on in the Baltimore Convention Center that was host to BioFach America. According to the organiser, Nürnberg Messe, more than 28,000 international visitors came to the east coast of America. Last year the visitor number was about 1,000 fewer. The guests sought information from around 190 organic exhibitors (2015: 159) about raw materials and organically produced goods in the food and non-food sectors.

Organic is continuing on a successful trajectory. According to the Organic Industry Survey of OTA (Organic Trade Association), the Americans spent 43.3 billion US dollars on organic food in 2015. That's growth of 11% compared with 2014. BioFach America, running under the motto "All things organic", was moreover once again very international: as well as Korea and Argentina being present, each with their own pavilion, the Spices Board from India took part. In total, companies from 28 countries presented themselves to the public at BioFach. In addition to attending the exhibition, visitors and exhibitors could take advantage of  a customarily prestigious conference programme and a variety of workshops. For Katharina Neumann, manager at NürnbergMesse, the outcome is positive: “There were high expectations of this year's BioFach America because it was fully booked as early as the spring of 2016. I'm all the more pleased that all the organic exhibitors were completely satisfied.“

The next  BioFach in Germany  will take place from 15 - 18 February 2017.
