Conference on organics in West Africa

The conference "Organic Agricultural Research and Training in West Africa: Presence, Challenges and Prospects" will take place at Njala University, in Njala, Sierra Leone from 18 to 22 March 2013, Organic World reports.

The conference is organised by the West African Network for Organic Agriculture, Research and Training (WANOART), a regional network formed by a consortium of five higher education institutions (HEIs) from West Africa. The purpose of the regional network is to facilitate the exchange of ideas, to encourage collaboration and to develop organic production methods which are locally relevant. The ultimate aim of the network and the project is to stimulate the development of organic production in the West African region as a whole.
