Wales: Abergavenny Food Festival

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The 10th edition of the Abergavenny Food Festival focused on organic food. A range of activities organised by Organic Centre Wales included cooking, organic stands, a masterclass and a live food debate. Gerard Baker, chef from a radio programme, was in the Organic Food for All area to produce meals from organic, local ingredients, reports Wales Online. Rachel’s Organic displayed a range of award-winning products and copies of an Organic Festival Guide were given to visitors, listing places to buy organic produce from all over Wales.

This edition of the festival was the first one focusing on organics. “The Abergavenny Food Festival is firmly established as one of the best, high profile festivals in the UK attracting over 30,000 visitors, – it is an ideal platform to launch this initiative”, according to  Nerys Howell, director of Howel Food Consultancy. Nerys Howells held a workshop on Food Tourism and how food tourism can stimulate local economic development. “The end of the road for cheap Food?” was the topic of a debate.
