Waitrose: Introducing Bubble & Balm

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

Waitrose is launching Bubble & Balm, the first range of natural liquid and clear glycerine bar soaps to carry the Fairtrade mark in the UK. The soaps contain Fairtrade sugar from Malawi. The hand made soaps are the brainchild of the one-woman-band Sue Acton, who on redundancy from her banking job decided to fulfil a dream and establish her own company. Sue Acton comments: “More and more people are becoming increasingly concerned about where and how products are made. Our products are Fairtrade and UK made, natural and effective, with beautiful green packaging and fantastic value. There are no compromises.”

Made in the UK using traditional methods, each product is naturally formulated with plant and essential oils and enriched with glycerine to soothe and moisturise, according to Waitrose. The entire range is suitable for vegetarians to use, and is free from synthetics such as parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate and phthalates. Bubble & Balm does not test products or ingredients on animals. The luxury hand wash retails at 4.95 £ , and the bar soaps – which are packaged in a watertight aluminium tin that doubles up as a soap dish – retail at 4.85 £. Waitrose has launched Ubuntu Cola, the first cola to carry the Fairtrade mark in the UK, in February this year Ubuntu Cola also contains sugar from Malawi.
