by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The participation criteria for the international trade fair for natural personal care, Vivaness, guarantee that quality at the exhibition is high and that inspiration and sustainability are paramount. The next opportunity for trade buyers to see this will be from 12 - 15 February 2014, when around 2,400 exhibitors – 200 of them at Vivaness – and more than 40,000 trade visitors are again expected to attend the trade fair duo BioFach and Vivaness. A survey carried out by the Centre for Sustainability Management at Leuphana University Lüneburg (D) and the Nawi Forum for Sustainable Management in Frankfurt (D), recently established that sustainability is regarded as an issue of great significance by 73 % of small and medium enterprises in particular. In the view of the US-American consulting firm Accenture, sustainability helps companies to achieve long-term success, while at the same time benefiting the economy, the environment and social responsibility.

The natural raw materials for natural cosmetics often come from projects that were set up by the manufacturers themselves and created on the basis of long-term partnership with farmers or wild gatherers. These firms frequently promote eco-social projects in the countries of origin as well, examples being educational and health programmes that benefit whole regions. On all continents one finds examples of best practice – from the production of argan oil, avocado oil and the extraction of pomegranate and rose oil to the manufacture of shea butter and lemongrass extract. The full article and information on Vivaness are available here.
