Veritas introduces electric cars

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The Spanish supermarket chain Veritas has acquired electric cars - Reva (Revolutionary Electric Vehicle Alternative) - to equip its fleet for business visits in its outlets. According to the philosophy of Veritas, the company’s new cars do not create any pollution, as they are moved only by electricity. Veritas is one of the first companies owning these cars which will be cruising through Barcelona, and thereby reaffirms its position in favour of the environment.

Reva is the first complete electric vehicle that is entering the Spanish market. It's main features are that it does not emit CO2 and that it does not generate noise pollution. The car is designed for city use and has a range of about 70 miles. One of its greatest advantages is its low cost of maintenance, 40% less than that of a gasoline or diesel car. The Reva costs about 12,000 euros. It was introduced in 2001 and is sold to the UK, Italy, Greece, Malta, Cyprus and Sri Lanka so far.

Veritas was launched in 2002 to distribute organic products. The company has established itself as a pioneer and leader in Spain within the sector. Veritas has a total of 12 stores located in Barcelona, Granollers, Sant Cugat and Castelldefels, which offer a range of 4,000 organic food products. 300 of which are of the company's  own brand Veritas, such as infant feeding, which is the first Spanish brand with an ecological certification to launch on the market.
