Sprouts: new openings and second quarter results

Sprouts Farmers Market has opened their Cedar Park (Texas) store on 27 August 2014. The company focuses on fresh, natural, and organic foods. With the grand opening of the 27,000-square-foot (2,500 m²) store, the Phoenix-based company now runs five Austin-area stores. This is its first local location built from the ground up, the Austin Business Journal reports.
 

Sprouts Farmers Market was founded in Arizona in 2002 and is one of the fastest growing retailers in the USA. It operates over 180 stores throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah and has more than 17,000 team members, according to company information. Sprouts has just published its second quarter results that revealed the company achieved net sales of US$743,8m (€568,6m), a 20% increase from the same period in 2013. Net sales growth was driven by strong performance in new stores opened, including the first new store in the Atlanta Market, and a 9.5% increase in comparable store sales growth. Expansion plans for early 2015 include their first store in Alabama, as well as stores in California, Georgia, Missouri, Arizona and Utah. More information is available from Sprouts Farmers Market.
