Second Sunflower store of Supervalu

Supervalu, the No. 2 U.S. supermarket company, made its Chicago debut with Sunflower Market, the company's new format focused on low-priced organic and natural foods, end of August 2006.
Minneapolis-based Supervalu opened its first Sunflower in Indianapolis in January and aims to have 50 stores within five years. Sunflower is expanding even as discount leader Wal-Mart Stores and mainstream grocers sell more organic and natural foods. Still, the new chain is a tiny part of Supervalu's business. The company's 2,500 stores range from extreme value chains to full-service supermarkets; Supervalu also runs a distribution business for more than 5,000 stores and expects total sales of $37.4 billion to $38 billion this year. The company declined to give sales forecasts for Sunflower, reports Reuters.
