In Portugal there are nine leading organic processors, which alltogether have around 370 employees. They handle a full range of products: wine, olives and olive oil, meat and meat products, lamb leather, wool, fruit and vegetables, cereals, nuts and sheep cheese.

Six main organic retailers run more than 20 outlets all over the country with over 3000 m² selling space in total.

Produces, processes and markets their own production of organic extra virgin olive oil with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) of Trás-os-Montes and organic wines with the Alto Douro Indication.

are still limited due to some logistic problems with cheese preservation, the company is currently investigating in trying other packages that help to a better preservation of the product and therefore facilitate its sales to long distance markets.
