Natural Cosmetics Standards to be Debated in Nuremberg

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The major technical & formulation issues when implementing natural and organic cosmetics standards will be debated at Organic Monitor’s upcoming Natural Cosmetics Masterclass in Nuremberg, Feb 20-21. The leading certification agencies including BDIH (Cosmos), NaTrue, NSF and NPA will go through the chemical processes, ingredient and formulation issues involved in their standards in the first workshop. Titled Critical Review of Natural & Organic Cosmetic Standards, the workshop will then compare and contrast the practical issues of adopting major standards. Comparisons will be made on the permitted / prohibited ingredients, formulation and technical issues for cosmetic ingredient & finished product manufacturers.

The second workshop, Challenges in Formulating Natural & Organic Cosmetics, will focus on the challenges companies face when developing natural & organic products. A review is undertaken of the synthetic chemicals typically absent in these products, their natural & organic replacements, as well as issues concerning sourcing, safety and performance. The Natural Cosmetics Masterclass will be led by Ms. Judi Beerling, Technical Research Manager of Organic Monitor (picture). With over 30 years experience in cosmetic formulations and innovations, she has assisted numerous companies with natural & organic formulations and processes.

The Nuremberg Masterclass follow the success of previous such workshops in 2008 (London, Amsterdam, New York and Bangkok). The Masterclass will take place alongside the Vivaness trade show for natural personal care & wellness. With a limited number of seats (capacity of 50), delegates are invited to book early to avoid disappointment.
