LEISA calls for authors

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

LEISA is currently working on an issue provisionally entitled ‘Green and Fair Trade’, and is looking to publish practical experiences of how farmers have managed to access different markets with organic or fairly traded produce, and what constraints they have faced and overcome. This could be in relation to certification, accessing distant markets or quality/quantity concerns. A full editorial support can be provided (for example by adapting an existing paper for our audience) and a fee of 75 Euro is available to authors. The Call for Articles, and Guidelines for Authors, both on their website, give extra details about what is looked for in an article.

The LEISA Magazine on Low External Input and Sustainable Agriculture documents and exchanges information on practical field experiences covering technical, ecological, social and economic aspects of small scale sustainable agriculture. It offers an opportunity for those working in agricultural development, particularly in diverse, risk-prone and resource-poor regions, to publish their experiences and to read about the experiences of others. LEISA Magazine is published four times a year, and each issue deals with a particular theme.

Currently 19,000 readers are reached worldwide. The magazine principally targets at people directly involved in agricultural development at field level, mainly in developing countries, and is free to individuals and organisations in the South. One can subscribe via the website, by email or by writing to the magazine. More information is provided on the website, including searchable databases. There are partner organisations in Brazil, Peru, India, Indonesia, China and West Africa, which all publish regional editions of the magazine in their various languages.
