IFOAM: Patron of One World Award

The One World Award will recognize outstanding engagement and achievements in providing creative and high impact solutions in the area of environmental protection and fair livelihoods. It also aims to encourage more engagement for a future worth living and for peaceful community building. The first OWA festive award ceremony will be on June 19th 2008 in conjunction with the IFOAM Organic World Congress in Modena, Italy.

After extensive and careful preparation, the stage has been set to call for nominations for the award. The OWA webpage has been launched in mid December and provides all necessary information to consider or even better to submit nominations for this new, but already prestigious award, which will come along with a € 25,000 cash prize. The selected four runner- ups will each receive a 2,000 Euro cash prize. The detailed information package with registration form for the nomination are available on the web page, but can also be requested via owa@rapunzel.de or via fax at 0049-8330-5291139. Strictly enforced deadline for nominations is February 29th 2008.

 “As organic agriculture has become a truly global option for a more sustainable and healthy world, it is stimulating that IFOAM unites with a prestigious and experienced company as Rapunzel to create a prize that highlights those who are leading in ecological production,” says Alberto “Pipo” Lernoud, IFOAM Vice President and Jury member of the One World Award.
