Festambiente in Grosseto/Italy

Legambiente is the most widespread environmental organisation in Italy with 20 regional branches, more than 1,500 local groups in the whole country and more than 115,000 members. Legambiente sees it as one of its most important tasks to put together scientific analysis and public awareness for the sake of the environment - as in Festambiente, the international festival.

Festambiente, the ecological fair, is taking place in Grosseto on more than 3 hectares offering an exhibition area, three large organic open-air restaurant with Italian and Mediterranean meals, two organic bars, an organic pizzeria and an ecological city with a cinema, a theatre, an area for workshops, more than 100 stands of institutions and commerce, an ecomarket with organic and natural products, a new age area, ateliers for kids, a kids’ garden, excursions into nature and ateliers for adults, just to name some of the facilities and events.

Every night, important political events take place with the participation of Italian Ministers as well as with other politicians, NGOs, artist and media. After the political debate on an environmental subject, a concert especially attracts young people and families not only from Italy, but also from abroad.

More than 100,000 visitors are expected for the 20th edition of Festambiente from August 8 to August 17, 2008.
