UK: Leading the way for women in Ethical Business

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The exemplary, ground-breaking work of eleven female leaders in the UK has been recognized by the First Women Awards at the London Marriott Hotel on 12 June 2014. Among them was founder and owner of Natracare organic and natural personal care products, Susie Hewson, taking the First Woman in Manufacturing Award. “It’s fantastic to be recognised as a successful female business owner amongst this incredible pool of talent. I’m honoured to be running a business according to sustainable and ethical principles, and taking the Natracare brand to the world markets,” she states. (Picture: Eleven winners were honoured)

Susie launched Natracare 25 years ago out of concern for the environmental & health dangers of chemicals and ingredients in feminine hygiene products. Her response was to create a viable, eco-friendly and healthy alternative for women: “I had to take some positive action rather than just be concerned” she said. Natracare now offers over 24 products, with five more being launched this year including a make-up removal wipe.

The First Women Awards are in their ninth year. They are founded by Real Business and the CBI, and are held in association with Lloyds Banking Group. A full list of award winners can be found here. More information is available from Natracare.
