1st International Conference on Organic Certification in Rome

In Rome, the first international conference on organic certification will be held,  leading off to a series of meetings dedicated to important subjects of certification.

200 participants are expected. Among the invitees are representatives of the faculties of inspection and certification, standardisation, legislation and government from each part of the world.

This conference aims to improve the organic certification on the commercial area. There is also a request to increase the trust of the consumer in organic products. As one further goal the dialog between the various stakeholders involved in the process of organic certification is mentioned. Instructions for the future regarding certification and coordination of organic agriculture will be given.

This conference addresses to certification bodies, regardless if private or governmental, to experts, companies and organizations dealing with this subject. Some of the events are:  Organic certification in the future – the scenario for 2020, the new approach to organic certification, international commercialisation, services of certification in developing countries, new instruments to improve the efficiency of certification and expectations of the consumers, retailers and producers in services of the certification bodies. The meeting will be held in English and Italian.
