by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The RSPB is the Scotland’s largest nature conservation charity. Together with their partners, they protect threatened birds and wildlife and play a leading role in a worldwide partnership of nature conservation organisations.

RSPB’s Loch Leven reserve has now become the first visitor attraction in Scotland to achieve the Gold Food for Life Catering Mark. The team at Loch Leven show a real commitment to serving freshly prepared, healthy and sustainable food, including a significant focus on organic ingredients. Douglas Rutherford, RSPB Loch Leven Catering Manager, said he was delighted that their hard work in their café had been recognised with this award.

RSPB join a growing number of organisations that are championing fresh, healthy, sustainable food. One in three primary schools now serve Food for Life Catering Mark meals, and as 14 million Food for Life meals are served in Scotland annually, Food for Life look forward to more organisations coming on board to help Scotland become a good food nation. More information is available from RSPB and Soil Association Scotland.
