Denmark: NorthSide Festival is going organic

by Redaktion (comments: 0)

The NorthSide Festival, taking place in Aarhus from 13. - 15. June 2014, expects about 35,000 people. For the first time, guests can enjoy a Tuborg RÅ, an unfiltered beer that carries the Danish Ø-label (organic label). It will be available on tap in most of the bars on the festival area and NorthSide hopes that guests will welcome the new addition. Organics are very much on the agenda at this year’s festival, where all food stalls will have food on their menu that is at least 30 % organic. The staff is ready for people with special requirements for their food, e. g. gluten-free or vegan. More information on the festival is available here.

Three food stalls offer food with a minimum of 30% organic ingredients, 16 have a share of a minimum of 60 % organic, and 12 food stalls offer dishes with a share of at least 90% organic. This is controlled by the festival in collaboration with Organic Denmark. “This organic initiative is clearly the most ambitious we have seen so far on a Danish festival. It is really impressive how high percentages organic food stalls have achieved. Hopefully, some of the stalls that offer non-organic produce on a daily basis also consider continuing using organics after the festival”, Dorthe Kloppenborg from Organic Denmark states. More information is available from Organic Denmark.
