Iran: 2nd international conference on organics

The second edition of the International Conference on Trade and Market Development of Organic Products will take place in Tehran on 11 May 2014. Dr. M. Reza Ardakani, executive manager of the ICTMDOP, explains that after the first edition of the conference, the organizers have realized that the awareness of different disciplines related to organic products in Iran has been increasing rapidly. They believe that this issue does not only illustrate the substantial alteration in management of plant production and development in technical methods, but also reveals the fact that many cultural activities have been executed in society with which both producers and consumers have gained the inevitable knowledge regarding organic products.
 

This conference is considered to be a milestone in organic history in Iran. It is expected to be an informative and stimulating event, which will review progress in tackling organic issues in terms of policy, science and partnerships. All contributions are welcome, and the organizers are looking forward to further joint activities following this conference to develop the trade and market for organics.

Andre Leu (IFOAM President), Gerold Rahmann (Thuenen Institute), Mildred Steidle and Gerald Herrmann (Organic Services GmbH), James A. Riddle (Blue Fruit Farm), Marco Schlueter (IFOAM- EU), Joerg Demuth (Anika Organic Luxury) and Frank Rumpe (bio-inspecta AG) have been invited as keynote speakers to this conference.
